We’ll go into this in detail with you once we’ve agreed the scale and scope of the project.

In simple terms, though, we’ll send you an mp3 audio file of your recording and a Google Sheet that’s laid out for you to tell is clearly and concisely the edits you need us to make, and the parts you’d like clipped into short videos for your socials.

Once we’ve made all the edits and created the clips, we’ll send you a link to download the resultant audio and video files.

Please note, the fee we’ve quoted you only includes one round of edits, and per above, those edits must be marked on the Google Sheet.

If you then decide you’d like more changes made, we will quote you for doing this. In simple terms, our fee doesn’t cover any last-minute changes you may want made once we’ve sent your edited files to you.

This depends on your booking.

If you’ve booked for audio only, we’ll send you the WAV files captured by the Rodcaster Pro. These are multitrack files, so in Adobe Audition you’ll be able to master each input captured.

If you’ve booked a recording with video, in addition to the audio files, you’ll receive the live switched video file captured by the Atem Mini Extreme ISO switcher. This file will have all of the camera angle changes that happened during your recording. This video file will have the audio captured by the Rodcaster Pro synced to it, and will have a very slight colour grade applied. We don’t charge for this.

If you require the ISO (the isolated video files captured from each camera), we can send these, but note that they won’t have the audio synced to them. This is something you’ll be able to do in your video editing software. We use a clapper board at the start of the recording. Simply line up the visual of the clapper board to the spike in the audio file. These video files won’t be colour-graded.

Expect around 4Gb of video content per hour of recording. The video will be one complete file, and if you’ve recorded audio only, you’ll receive the WAV file(s) created during your time with us. Note that we record your audio using a Rodecaster Pro. This device creates a new WAV file every 31 minutes or so.

As WAV files are uncompressed, RAW audio, they can be quite large, so if you’ve recorded for an hour, expect roughly 2 WAV files, each around 3.7Gb each.

If should go without saying, that if you’re saving these files onto your computer’s hard drive, it’ll fill up quickly. We recommend purchasing an external hard drive to store your podcast files.

None of the above applies if we’re handling post-production/editing for you.

You’ll receive the final edited audio and video files, ready for uploading.

When you’ve booked you’ll receive an email explaining how to get to the studio and what to do when you arrive at the building. Please read this email carefully.

We recommend arriving no more than 10 minutes before your booked time slot. Ring 109 at the glass doors. The lift is on the left-hand side of the foyer, come up to the first floor.

Once you’re inside, we’ll welcome you, offer you tea or coffee, and show you into either psg1 or psg2.

We’ll get you and your guests - if you have them - set up in front of the mics and explain how to ensure you sound great.

If you’ve opted to record video as well, we’ll show you how the camera angles look. You can advise us on the colours you’d prefer our studio RGB lighting to be.

If we already have your logo, it will be displayed on the TV.

We’ll encourage you to be relaxed and enjoy your time recording your podcast, and we’ll happily answer any last-minute questions you may have.

Aside from ensuring the technical side of the recording is ok, our job is to help you create the best possible podcast episode.

Please note that your session time will start promptly (see the FAQ about running overtime) at the time you’ve booked.

When there are around 5 minutes of your session left, we’ll alert you, and at this point, you should begin to wrap up your recording.

Once you’ve finished recording we may give you some feedback, if requested, on your presenting/hosting style, and then it’s time to enjoy that post-podcast recording buzz, while you head back down out of the building.

We offer this as a booking option for our Video Marketing appointments. Note that we charge £25 for the duration of your booking as the autocue/teleprompter is set up specifically for your booking, should you require it.

We ask that you email over your scripts in advance to allow us to prepare.

But within reason. We ask that you respect the furniture and hardware in the studio. Some clients bring light boxes or neon signs to display. Others bring props and plants. These are all fine and we’ll offer you some direction on what will look good on camera.

Please note, though, that the time it takes to dress the set will be included in your recording time. So, if you think you’ll need a lot of time to get the set ready, please book more time in advance.

Per our Terms and Conditions, detailed in the email you receive when you book, we’ll need you to be wrapped up in a prompt fashion. It’s likely another client will be arriving when you’ve finished your recording, and we need time to set up for them.

We’ll notify you when you have 5 minutes of recording time left, and we ask that you wrap up your recording by the time your appointment is due to end. No one likes things getting awkward.

If you ask, and we can accommodate, we may be able to let you stay longer, but there will be a charge for this in 30-minute increments, which should be paid immediately. We’ll advise you of the additional cost at the time.

As we’re a busy and popular podcast studio, we encourage regular clients to agree a set day and time with us so that they can be consistent with their podcast recordings.

We set up the cameras and lights for the set you requested when you booked. If really must change sets when you arrive for your booking, please note that the time required to change things around will come out of your booking time.

As mentioned above, if we can, we will let you run over your booking time, but we will require payment for the extra time.

We’re a busy and popular studio. We ask that you allow up to 2 business days for us to send your files to the email you used when booking.

However, in most cases, you’ll get your files sooner than this, typically within 18 hours.

Note that if you’ve recorded last thing on a Friday, it will be the following week before your files are ready (see below).

We could send your audio and video files to you the same day. But we make sure the recorded audio is balanced and set to the LUFs required by most podcast platforms. If you’ve recorded video with us, we correct the colours and contrast before we send it to you.

We want you to be able to use the files straight away with minimal correction on your part.

Once we’ve sent you your files, we typically only keep local versions for around 4 weeks, after which time we’ll delete them.

Note that this doesn’t apply if we’re editing or post-producing your podcast.

When you’ve received the email link to download your files, please do so promptly. The link will display when the transfer expires. Outwith this date you’ll no longer be able to download them.

Note that if the file sizes are large and you don’t have enough space on your hard drive, the download won’t be successful. We always recommend downloading onto an external storage device with sufficient space.

But we’re pretty busy, so we may not be able to get back to you straight away. However, you can get 30 minutes with us (we have over 20 years of combined podcast production and presenting experience between us) if you book a consultation. It only costs £35 and we’ll answer all your questions either in person in the studio or over Google Meet.

Additionally, the file sizes would be absolutely massive, and remember, we’re sending them via the cloud to you, which you’ll then need to download. Also, even if you publish your video directly to Spotify, using Spotify for Podcasters, for example, it won’t accept 4K.

And do you really need a 4K video file of your podcast?

That’s like asking for a discount at a hotel because you’ve brought your own bed.

We can even send you a Davinci Resolve file from the Atem Mini Extreme ISO that will allow you to switch out the captured 1080p footage for the 4K files on your SD card. But note, that this does require some knowledge of the Davinci Resolve workflow.

Note that we are not responsible for the integrity of your SD cards. In other words, if the card isn’t fast enough to capture the 4K footage or the footage is corrupted on your card, we won’t be held responsible. We’d consider your SD cards to be your hardware.

Please do your research on the type and size of SD required to capture 4K footage from Blackmagic BMPCC 6K cameras.

We use a Rodecaster Pro which produces these files. If you have suitable software, skills and know-how you’ll be able to individually edit each audio track of your recording.

The simple answer is, it’s not the most efficient way to capture multi-camera footage for a podcast. It would then be your job to sync all of the footage from the cameras up to edit.

As mentioned above, we use an Atem Mini Extreme ISO into which our cameras are run. We’ll create a video with live camera switches while you record. We can send you the ISO - the isolated video files captured in 1080p - from each camera if you require. However, these won’t be colour-graded (please see “what files will I receive?) for more information.

A benefit of recording with psg is that you won’t receive huge files via cloud download.
